The Project

Arms Up1048

The Vox Mundi Project (Voice of the Worlds) is an international educational project devoted to teaching and preserving the richness of indigenous and sacred musical traditions, combining music and dance, service and spiritual practice.

Award-winning composer, former psychotherapist, author, and voice-culturist Silvia Nakkach founded Vox Mundi in Italy in 1988. Since then, itremains as the only organization of its kind dedicated to unveil the sacred beauty within cross-cultural vocal arts and music. Students study the integrative use of sound, chant, and music to transform consciousness, to support healing processes, and as a spiritual practice, with an emphasis in the mind-body-spirit connection.

The programs comprise: preservation of recordings of unusual vocal arts, sound healing training and supervision, music education and performance, film festivals, and study abroad programs to countries and cultures where sacred music is still a vital component of daily life and community activation. Vox Mundi also promotes research on unusual vocal cultures, and is committed to revitalize the experience of singing as a healing art throughout schools, health centers, institutions and individuals everywhere.

Vox Mundi supports the education of the whole person through music, and its international faculty includes celebrated musicians, healers, and artists of many worlds. Throughout 25 years of progressive and transformative education, Vox Mundi is committed to revitalizing the experience of singing to re-enchant the world and to awakening one another.

Vox Mundi sponsors the internationally renowned Yoga of the Voice Certificate training offered by certified teachers through schools and centers around the world, and it have served thousand of practitioners.

The Vox Mundi Project and Mystery School of the Voice is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with centers throughout the USA, Europe, Brazil, Argentina, Japan, Bahamas, and India.
