Vibration permeates all things…“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” – Nikola Tesla
The use of sound and vibration in yoga is as old as yoga itself. The Yoga of the Voice is an evolving practice that offers instruction, inspiration, research, mentoring and supervision on realizing your voice as a healing art through:
§ skillful methods to develop breath power, intonation, range, and flexibility, providing a theoretical and practical context to free the voice to sing, teach, and perform with consistency and imagination. Through the expressive potential of the voice, sound opens and designs its own landscapes.
§ a series of sonorous yogic practices that involve subtle movements (asanas) and heighten the focus of the mind in sound;
§ a gentle and ancient path based on relaxation for developing a voice that is fully embodied, uniquely expressive, and played like a fine musical instrument;
§ a repertory of invocatory words, incantations, icaros, and ancient seed sounds that deliver explicit spiritual information for expansion of consciousness, trance, and well-being;
§ a repertory of mantras and chants from many cultures that you can build on and share as you deepen your practice and free your voice;
§ a repertory of techniques for jazz and contemporary vocal improvisation to engage your imagination and enrich your musical offerings;
§ fostering conviction, confidence, and kindness toward yourself and other practitioners;
§ cultivate singing as a spiritual practice for yourself and to serve a larger community;
§ activate communities through song, drumming circles and transformative performance art.
§ regardingthe refining of your voice as inner work. Your voice becomes the journey, and you are The Seeker.
§ becoming more aware of vibration, energy fields, and frequency shifting to activate new brain pathways and promote wellbeing;
The Yoga of the Voice is the only standing formative and mentoring program that focuses on the VOICE as energy (prana, life force). The courses integrate many traditions of voice cultures, including original songwriting techniques, music theater, sacred sound, and spiritual “yogic” chants to burn away impurities of the body and the mind, clearing emotions, and, ultimately, attaining liberation from all conditions. The methodology includes classical Western vocal performance and modern extended vocal techniques combined with the discipline and science of yoga.
Each sessionis open to all levels of practitioners as well as seasoned teachers in training, offering individual student-centered attention and a customized home curriculum of daily practices to explore and extend the practitioner voice potential.
WE culture your Voice and YOU fulfill your dream practice.
