Description

This journey is designed to follow the route of a devotional trilogy: villages, temples, and sacred music. The emphasis is on nurturing and reactivating our voice as a spiritual practice.

India is one of the most musically rich cultures on this planet, and this is a journey that is giving us the opportunity to revitalize our own creative potential by taking your practice deeper. We become better listeners when we travel through other cultures, and other musics.

India impacts our senses and psyche not just for its ancient architecture, but also for its human wisdom and ancient-ness. This journey is an exploration of how we can share this planet with people that are mostly fed by the force of devotion, and how quickly we can overcome the physical plane of things towards the more subtle energy of music and the spirit. Everything is a manifestation of the divine substance and we are a dynamic constituent force of this holy landscape, then we can be One with any culture. We'll challenge our comfort zone and reinforce our spiritual hard-drive. We’ll come back home with a change of heart, and the world around us will highly benefit.

* We are planning a small group of continuing students. Register VERY soon.

* Attention Voice Yogis!
This study abroad journey qualifies for 30 hours towards the Yoga of the Voice Certificate Training.

Activities:

• We will re-enchant ourselves by a daily singing practice and sacred music sessions with local chant masters, among others Joy in Auroville, Vox Mundi Dhrupad teacher, Dr Ritwik Sanyal in Varanasi, and your host, Silvia Nakkach at all times. Around 4 to 6 hours of chanting and music making per day. Usually, afternoon are free, or we plan excursions together.

• In the South, we will visit local villages, temples, music schools, festivals, and some Ayurvedic clinics.

• We will have our own friendly Bus drivers to travel around the villages.

• We will offer (and receive) chanting and sound healing sessions, volunteer work with children (optional), and a possible group-concert in Auroville.

• We will have spear time for shopping, cycling, chant in temples, see art, go to the beach, and make new international friends.
