THE SCHOOL OF THE
VOICE
The School Abroad
The School of the Voice is an innovative training program
designed by the Vox Mundi Project. The courses offer
an in-depth exploration of the voice as an instrument
to:
- make music
- awaken individual innate creativity
- free self-expression
- improve musicianship
- focus and relax the mind
- engender a sense of confidence and community
- heal unwanted feelings and physical illness
The approach is integral, cross-cultural, and systematic.
The highly experiential training workshops offer a precise
integration of the Eastern and Western approach to singing
as a therapeutic art. For over twenty years singers,
music therapists, teachers, and students have learned
technical, progressive ways to apply vocal arts in their
work. As a result of the Vox Mundi Project educational
programs, this multi-modal approach is now practiced
by hundreds of musicians and therapists internationally.
The only source of this kind of training in North America
is the Vox Mundi Project.
THE METHOD
Vocal development, mind-training, and healing strategies
are integrated. A broad range of cross-cultural vocal
techniques are explored through the practice of both
indigenous and classical forms from cultures as diverse
as Tibet, Brazil, the Amazon, Europe, Africa, and India.
THE RESULTS
The voice is freed and refined. Students discover which
musical culture opens personal doorways to revitalize
their work and enrich their life. Musical imagination
is nurtured and a sense of artistic confidence is enhanced.
Participants are able to apply skillfully a broad range
of cross-cultural vocal technologies to facilitate transformative
work with themselves and their clients
